They look like they belong in a high-end luxury store downtown New York. Wrapped with gold foil, the navy blue tuck case hides its secret. Going unnoticed from far are intricate designs that go around the box giving it a texturized look. The gold foil is striking, with a modern but timeless aesthetic. The silver foiling kickstarts our very first ‘Artist Series’ Playing Cards; Designed and envisioned by Avi, illustrated by Ventxil, we introduce you to GRAVITAS Playing Cards Bleu et Or Edition.
Printed in Luxury Stock and with Magic finish by Hanson Chien Production Company’s latest technology, the GRAVITAS playing cards’ design is very reminiscent to the classic style of the Bee Playing Cards. Simple and Elegantly mixed with Navy Blue and Metallic Gold ink, the deck is dripping with luxury. Keeping in mind that this is the ‘worker’s deck’ that Avi would want to carry everyday and everywhere, He chose to keep the face cards standard. This is so he could slip in standard gaff cards and create miracles with this deck. While the face cards are all standard, the court cards will feature some metallic ink to give the deck some pop.
Memento Mori: Genesis is Adrian Valenzuela's reimagining of the widely celebrated design. With Humble beginnings as a self-challenge to re-create the brand using only 3D software, this redesign takes the familiar low poly skull into a fully rendered 3-dimensional masterpiece.
While in earlier iterations the poly's were drawn with their own unique color, this recreation uses a collection of glass polys and painted with a photorealistic light source to create the broad spectrum of colors that makes the Memento Mori series unique. It is the next iteration of modern design that will be remembered by the ages. Never forget your own humble beginnings. Memento Mori: Genesis

"Probably closer to period 1765 - 1775 - Hart produced a variety of different cards in the period 1737/1744 -There are no know apprentices after 1760 which seems as if he may have stopped
manufacturing playing cards by the 1770s ( There is no registered ace for home use after 1776/89 period), Hart went out of business in 1799 - The courts are wonderfully crude - all the kings have half moustaches, eyes are centered, Jacks have full length weapons /staffs, queens all hold flowers. The heart pips are more pronounced than many makers of the period. Cards are wood block printed and stenciled - the condition is excellent - clean with little signs of usage (52/52)"
