Funded as a Kickstarter project on March 19, 2015 with kr462,035 (Swedish Krona, which is about $57k USD) pledged from 1,015 backers, this was the Kickstarter attempt at funding this project after the failed CardLauncher (cardlauncher.com) platform attempt, where that platform has since been abandoned.  In that process an earlier protoype (V.01) was created as a prototype and also as a promotional deck for CardLauncher itself which had 55 cards with black and white courts, different tuck-box, different aces, and was printed by MakePlayingCards in 525 units. 

For this project the deck was revised with new and modified face cards, back and tuck and was available in Bicycle branded, unbranded, plus a special Crown Edition hand created tuckcase with the same size and face cards.  It was printed by USPCC on Bicycle Stock with 56 cars including 3 jokers and a gaff card with a custom seal and embossed tuck used on both decks.  The deck as also available as an add-on in uncut format.  In addition, mini and micro formats were available as gifts with larger sized tiers which were printed by MPC (MakePlayingCards.com).

There is no specific theme in this deck, it´s quite eclectic and I let my fantasy run when I illustrated the courts. The diamonds have clearly an Egyptian resemblance, but overall they belong to a parallel world. There is a thing that connects all the court cards: the text circling the background is a part of the Aeneid, a Latin epic poem written by Virgil between 29 and 19 BC, that tells the legendary story of Aeneas, a Trojan who traveled to Italy, where he became the ancestor of the Romans.

The siren deck is a project that was hand designed from scratch. A total of 1200 hours have been invested in this project. The deck is a combination of both traditional and digital process. Abysses Edition: A siren's egg is the stone at the tip of their flute, an accumulation of sadness taken from sailors' dreams. But for a lone siren, they confuses themselves from time to time. Inspired by the architecture of the Eiffel Tower, the Parisian Deck is fully-marked for suit and value. The intricately detailed design is timeless in form and function. It is printed by Expert Playing Cards, with their NEW China Printer.

The Parisian Tuck Box features a textured matte paper stock, a rich Copper FOIL, and a PANTONE Blue accent color. The design includes architectural elements featured in the Eiffel Tower’s structure. The letters “ML19” on the front commemorate the Magic Live 2019 release of the Parisian Deck.

The Cards are printed with Expert’s Classic Finish. The Back Card has an intricate design, bold and rich colors, and contains subtle depth to it. The Marking System is very subtle to casual observers, but easy to read by those who know it’s markings. The Face Cards feature METALLIC Gold and a METALLIC Light Blue inks. The Ace of Spade is elegant and classical. The non-matching Jokers (Gold / Gold and Gold / Light Blue) feature the Eiffel Tower, or “La Dame de Fer”, as it looked upon it’s completion for the 1889 World’s Fair.

Rebellion Rum - a Pirate\\\'s first mate, comes straight from the stronghold of Tortuga. Tropical hibiscus flowers adorn the back of the cards while the faces maintain the nautical theme. The inside of the tuck is printed with a maritime map, while the Ace of Spades takes the form of a Parrot and its raised wings. Like all the Prohibition decks, Rebellion Rum is printed on the finest stock USPCC has available, with no expense spared in the production of these cards - foiled, embossed, interior printed, custom seal - anything that could be done to this deck to make it feel like you were holding some serious bounty, has been done. The most colorful deck in the series, this First Edition run has been limited to only 5,000 decks. Available exclusively in the Prohibition Boxed Set.
