Inspiration and/or artwork came from a number of victorian era printed sources including Cheselden’s Osteographia (1733), The Rime of the Ancient Mariner (1798), Under the Waves: Diving in Deep Waters, A Tale (1876), Bilder-Atlas zur wissenschaftlich-populären Naturgeschichte der Wirbelthiere (1864), Gustave Doré’s “Death on a Pale Horse” & "Achan Is Stoned to Death", Dictionnaire Infernal (1818), Osteographia - The Anatomy of Bones (1733),  Traité de phrénologie humaine et comparée, accompagné d'un magnifique atlas in-folio de 120 planches, contenant plus de 60 sujets d'anatomie humaine et comparée, d'une parfaite execution (1832), misc victorian era advertising prints and other sources.  These collections of art were updated, even modified in some cases, and broken out into categories by suit: Hearts - Victorian Era Anatomy, Spades - Victorian Era advertising, Clubs - bizarre Victorian Era story telling, Diamonds - Victorian Era nature illustrations.
