From 1913-1922, Frank Lloyd Wright designed and built the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. For decades this landmark served as an architectural icon for the city, during which time it survived several devastating earthquakes until it was demolished in 1968. Fortunately, the main entrance and hotel lobby were preserved and reconstructed in 1968 at the Museum Meiji-mura, an open-air architectural museum and theme park near Nagoya in Aichi prefecture, Japan. In celebration of the centennial anniversary of the Imperial Hotel, the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation has partnered with Art of Play to design a commemorative pack of playing cards based on Wright's original drawings. Meticulously Illustrated by Ethan Kowaleski in close collaboration with Brad Fulton and Dan & Dave Buck.

These cards began their journey in 2014 as a name and idea based on the history of Fulton’s hometown Los Angeles and the silent film era. Gorgeous picture palaces and deco styling. The deck has standard Bike faces that have been recolored to match the ghost vibe. Identical jokers because that's more useful than different jokers. A custom Ace of Spades because those are the rules. Also a double backer and a blank facer because extra magic built into the deck is rad. The box is a normal card box and has a custom sticker. Maybe someday we'll print some other colors (we probably will, I really liked having multiple colors of Insignias) but I don't have any plans to print more batches of these grey ones. When they sell out, they'll probably be sold out for a long time. Maybe forever.

The Vintage Halloween Deck is the first deck in our Vintage Holiday collection. Remember when your neighborhood was your kingdom? You always knew where the gang was because that\\\'s where all the bicycles were parked. You could go anywhere, as long as you came home when the street lights came on. But on Halloween, nightfall was when the day began, bed sheet ghosts, witches with pointy hats and brooms, hobos with cast off clothing, messy hair, smudged faces, and a knapsack on a stick over their shoulders. Some kids planned their costumes for weeks, covering card board boxes with aluminum foil to become robots, and some moms sewed elaborate princess gowns for their beautiful girls, but the most common costumes of the day were from the Five and Dime, plastic mask with elastic string and eyeholes, breathing was optional. Kids stayed out until nearly bedtime, covering as much ground as possible. When they got home they excitedly spilled their loot all over the floor, separated and traded with their siblings, and fell asleep dreaming of the day\\\'s spooky events. The Vintage Halloween Playing Cards was created to bring back the vibes of the atomic era, from the well dressed mom at the door, passing out candy from her iconic Pyrex bowl to the beautiful atomic star design on the back cards. This is a deck you\\\'ll enjoy playing with for years to come.

General Admission was the Kings Wild Shorts Subscription deck for May, 2020. The design inspiration for this unique deck came from Jackson's draw towards vintage ticket stubs from the early 20th century. Printed by EPCC, the semi-gloss tuck case resembles the layout of a ticket stub, including the gate number, section, row, and seat, which hide an Easter Egg for those who follow Jackson's design themes closely. The complex back design plays along the same lines, adding design elements resembling some of Kings Wild's currency decks, along with the iconic logo.

As you open the deck, you'll find the familiar Kings Wild motto, "Work with your hands. Mind your own business."
