For all the time that we produce artistic playing cards we dreamed to push the boundaries even further. To go beyond static illustrations. So we decided to challenge todays leading motion designers to ANIMATE illustrations from Edition ZERO deck.

We will be using the latest augmented reality technology to display animations in real world through mobile AR app. That means you will be able to enjoy moving illustrations not only on the website, but while holding Edition ZERO cards right in your hands!

This project includes the end of the Draconian series that I started a few years ago - the Draconian WIGHT Deck. After watching the latest season of Game of Thrones, and seeing the amazing storyline play out, I was immediately inspired to do a white / ice version of my Draconian design. Upon receiving the prototype Cards and Physical Proof Tuck Box, I was thrilled by that choice!!

The Draconian WIGHT Tuck Box will be printed on a premium Matte stock + PANTONE Black + PANTONE Grey + UV Spot Ink + Blue FOIL. The clear UV Spot Ink on the white dragon scales is extremely cool in person! The UV Spot Ink also covers all of the Black elements on the Tuck, and it really helps the Black pop. And as you would expect, the Blue FOIL is a true attention getter. I've designed over 50 different Tuck Boxes in the last 6 years, and the Draconian WIGHT Tuck Box is one of the coolest I've ever created, or seen!!

The Back Card for the WIGHT Deck features a borderless optical illusion design formed from Dragon Scales. The Face Cards feature random fire / crackle fissures of Blue over a subtle light grey background. The fissures are also incorporated into the designs of the PIPs, Courts, Ace heros and Jokers. The Classic Courts are flanked with the Dragon scales spiral-shaped designs. Everything comes together to create a cool look that is also very playable!

The Draconian WIGHT Deck will be printed by Legends Playing Card Co., with their TAIWAN PRINTER (and with their Classic Finish). The Classic Finish is a softer and slicker paper. It's more comparable to a vintage Bicycle Deck. This will be my fourth time printing with Legends Playing Cards.

The first deck we call Ascendant. Its design incorporates all the refinements that we have learned over the years and mixes those with the organic symmetry first seen in Tendril. The colors are bold, the borders are intense, the faces are dark and the level of detail has been increased.

The box is printed on a soft-touch matte black paper with incredible metallic green details and subtle gloss black foil tendrils. This deck was printed by USPCC in a limited run of less than 5,000 and will never be reprinted.

Nightfall is a mirror of the original, with much the same art and layout. We designed the original to be as if you were in the tropical rainforest, peering up at the sun through the natural habitat. Nightfall is that same view, but time-shifted to the evening, when the moon is glowing and the light is cool and dark. We subtly refined many aspects of the original design and added some visual texture and detail. Nightfall is the perfect companion to the original Tendril deck.

The box features deep blue metallic foil, debossed accents and vibrant color artwork. This deck was printed by USPCC in a limited run of 5,000 and will never be reprinted.

In 2012, Encarded released Aurum, our second deck which was inspired by the design of Venice, Italy. Featuring rich purple and metallic gold tones, with intricate detail and "purposeful imperfection" Aurum has gone on to become a coveted collector deck. Available in 3 versions, all have become almost impossible to find, with the rarest Laser Cut Edition often trading for $500+.

When designing Aurum, the original vision for the design eclipsed what was possible to print at the time. Luckily, with advances in foil and printing techniques we can finally see the shimmer, reflection and detail that we imagined back in 2012. Aurum Deus is a completely new design, but takes the original Aurum and expands on it while infusing true reflective gold into the visual aspects.

Aurum Deus is a limited edition release of 1000 decks. Each will feature an intricate foil backed design, custom face art, a pearlescent white, purple and gold box with custom cutout windows that combines the aspects of the original Aurum versions, and a uniquely shaped and hand numbered seal.
