In 2018 my friend and I opened our own little independent pharmacy in a small Nebraskan town (Hickman). As a way to bring a smile to the faces of our customers, I learned a few VERY SIMPLE card illusions ("tricks are what whores do for money" -Gob Bluth). During the process I fell in love with playing cards, magic, and cardistry. Short story long, I talked to some WONDERFUL individuals (including Brendan Hong and Gio aka Thirdway) and they inspired me to create a deck for the pharmacy. I reached out to an incredible illustrator, Russell Gray, and after almost a year of brainstorming and countless adjustments, we created the Meadowlark Deck. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Gemini is a fictional casino deck inspired by treasured classics like Jerry's Nugget and Dunes Casino playing cards. Created by Estonian multimedia designer, magician and card flourisher Toomas Pintson, Gemini was made to look like a vintage deck you might find in an old Las Vegas warehouse from the ’70s.

Gemini features a brilliant, vibrant shade of blue - PANTONE 312C. We call it ”Vegas Blue”. This beautiful color is a mix between cyan and a small amount of turquoise. It looks spectacular both in real life and in photos.

The Planets is a collection of decks representing the planets in our solar system, starting closest to the sun and moving outwards into the surrounding universe. The sixth deck of this series is Saturn. This is the most luxurious Vanda deck series to date, with tuckbox features that include gold holographic foil, white foil, interior foiling, and embossing.

Saturn is considered to rule Capricorn, which is symbolized by the goat, hence the goat-like beings represented in the Saturn court cards. The Jacks allude to Saturn, and its Greek counterpart Cronus, being associated with the passing of time and relevance to the harvest seasons. Notice that the hats worn by the Jacks are shaped like the planet itself. Look closely and you'll find other symbolism woven into the illustrations of the courts.

During the V7 design process, Daniel Schneider, showed me the final render of the inside of the V7 box. I was so blown away by how 80's it looked. My wife Holly said "That should be it's own deck." I thought about it for a while and it just made too much sense not to do. I knew the parallel universe concept had to be used here, which is why they were dubbed the "Parallel Edition". So, Daniel and I got to work and adjusted this to so it made sense as a back design. We had a think tank session that lasted around 4-5 straight hours. From there we did a few minor adjustments throughout the following week or so. The outside of the V7 box is the inside of the V7p box. Throughout the deck of the V7p's you'll find some things have been changed/flipped from the V7 to further highlight the fact that you're now in a parallel universe. We'll let you search for them. The matte lavender color that replaced the red cards give a softer tone while pairing nicely with the dark purple icons on the back design.
