In a realm where mortal imagination meets divine myth, two legendary decks emerge from the depths of ancient lore. These playing cards are not mere tools of game, but artifacts woven with a dark, opulent reinterpretation of Greek mythology - a vision where death, fate, and forgotten magic command the stage.

Here, you will face the wrath of the Hydra, the power of Ares, the might of the Minotaur, the destruction of the Cyclops, the betrayal of the Nereids, the paralysis of Medusa, and the deadly three-headed hound Cerberus.

A shaman uses the Shamanic Journey to go to the other magical, highly animated worlds. These “Spirit Flights” are the inspiration for this set of playing cards.

Printed by NPCC, the tuck boxes for these decks are amazing, featuring two embossed foils, premium matte paper from Italy, custom seals, and UV inks which reveal characters from the Journey under a black light. The two Upperworld decks also have a unique construction, whereby the flaps unfold to both sides like wings.

The cards feature entirely custom illustrations of various shamans and creatures from the Journey, and have been printed on high quality German stock with a premium linen finish. Finally, this set also comes with two "Magic Shields" crafted from metal which can be attached to the back of any of the decks to protect against malefic spirits.

UNDERWORLD:

The shamanic underworld is underground. To get there, the shamanic practitioner must descend deep into the earth via the Axis Mundi. Usually through a long tunnel or corridor that he enters through an opening in the earth.

Sumi Playing Cards – Kitsune is Card Experiment's 2nd collaboration with ToKMR Graphics following our highly successful

In Kitsune, we continue to translate and transform the traditional Japanese tattoo art form of Wabori into playing card style, retaining as well as enhancing many of the interesting and delightful features we had in Sumi Playing Cards. The focus of Kitsune centers around the fox spirit, a staple in Japanese folklore. We scoured many different sources of folktales, stories and myths about fox spirits and selected a few well-known ones as sources of inspiration for the characters in the court cards. Kistune continues to serve as a homage to Wabori and faithfully represents the visual nuances and quality that is the hallmark of Japanese traditional tattoo once again, creating a visual playing card masterpiece like no other, a masterpiece that weaves fantastical stories of begone time with modern playing card aesthetics.
